Man is on the agenda for 2027.
Mereside have previously contested in the regionals at Blackpool Winter Gardens and at the Buxton entertainment contest. More recently they performed at the Red Admiral contest .where they got 1st prize for the best cornets in the 4th section. Earlier 2025 they performed and had a great day out at the Ironbridge festival.
Mereside started when Knutsford Band folded and core members formed a small group to keep playing under the leadership of Albert Oldfield. He invited others from local bands to fill gaps. This group played 10 piece arrangements. Gradually there were enough players to form Mereside Brass in 2002. Early rehearsals were at Pickmere Methodist Church. Hence the name Mereside Brass.
