Mereside have performed at a fabulous multi band concert at Victoria Hall, Stoke on Trent organised by the great Fodens Band. It was a fabulous evening where Mereside performed in the foyer and then watched Fodens and other bands perform before performing with the massed bands doing Slaidburn and the Floral Dance. It is an event that we hope will be repeated in future years.
After our successful and fabulous concert at Rostherne Church, Mereside Brass have now done a great joint concert with Barnton Silver Band. Mereside band looked smart in their new uniforms and both their performance and Barnton's went down well. Mereside Band played for the first half of the concert and this was followed by Barnton performing in the second half. Mereside Band were joined at the end of the first half by Barnton Band and Mereside joined Barnton Band for the final piece Pragmatic Light for the final piece of the joint concert. It was greatly enjoyed by both the audience and the bands so much that there is now talk of us doing another joint concert.
2025
We had a fabulous 2025 under our new conductor Kieran where we performed at different venues than previous years such as the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival, the Red Admiral contest, various Christmas markets amongst other events and also continued with our regular Performances at Rostherne Church, Pickemere Christmas event, Tatton Farm and concerts at Goostrey Church amongst others.
We are undergoing further progress under Kieran and developing our sections within the band by having sectionals for the individual groups of players. Please contact our secretary if you are interested in coming down to join our friendly band (see contact details).
